..try and get a new perspective on thing?

Jack had been pretty sure when he couldn't find Kate or Sean that they would be headed towards the airport. He was right. As he pulled up behind Sean's car, he saw Sean get out and walk into the convenience store with...was that Kate? She looked exactly like Kate except the new brown hair. Unfortunately for Kate, it would take a lot more than a new hair color to throw him. Even the uncharacteristic baggy UNLV sweatshirt and jeans weren't enough to fool Jack. Had they seen him? They still looked quite calm. Ironically, it was their very disguises that eased Jack's mind about losing them in the gas station. Sean with his aviator sunglasses, Hawaiian shirt (sadly, a bit more characteristic than Kate's garb)and bright red hat may have accurately prevented himself from being recognized, but now was easily identified by his new "undercover" outfit. It was just like Sean to have an "undercover" outfit.

Jack grew nervous about the time they were spending in the gas station convenience store until he saw them walk out with so many groceries that they could barely see over the bags. Jack knew they were stocking up for a long road trip. Just as they were getting into the car, Sean in his stupid red hat must have seen Jack because him and Kate got into the car, threw their groceries in the back seat, and sped off.

Although there would normally be traffic around the airport, at 8 am on a Saturday when Jack found them allowed Jack's targets to get onto the freeway fairly easily. Now it was just them and the trailer trucks sharing the interstate. Due to the speed the trucks were travelling, one might not have even realized that the silver Sebring convertable and Sean's red Honda Civic were in the middle of a high speed chase. The Civic used this to its advantage, however. After being in the far left lane, it cut in front of a flat bed in order to get off at the next exit. Jack, who had been following very closely couldn't get over because he was right next to the truck. Jack made a U-turn onto the left shoulder and drove South in the Northbound lane until he was at the exit. Right after a truck flew by him, he cut across three lanes and onto the exit ramp where Sean's car had a 2-3 minute lead on him. Fortunately for Jack, he saw the red Honda Civic at the light, a half mile up the road.

Jack knew he was spotted because the Civic, instead of waiting to go straight, made a quick left on red back onto the Interstate ramp. JAck followed suit having made up the head start that the Civic had gotten on him. This time he was not about to be fooled by fancy driving.

In Days of Thunder, Tom Cruise complained about being hit from behind during a race. Robert Duvall famously explains, "He didn't slam into...he rubbed you, and rubbin' is racin'" Unfortunately for Sean's Civic, Jack did slam into him. After both cars spun out, Jack and his ominous friend climbed out of their car and walked over towards Sean's civic where he could see the red hat and his partner in crime shaken up in the front seat. Both of their seatbelts had locked preventing them from exiting the car. So much for safety. Jack shattered the driver side window with a hammer he happened to have handy for such occasions. As he raised his gun a male voice that was certainly not Sean's shouted "WAIT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!" Jack spun around sharply to see who was yelling but saw no one. It was then he realized that Sean was a bit taller than usual. In fact, this wasn't Sean at all.

Sean looked at his watch his as he boarded the plane next to Kate. "Jack's probably caught up to them by now. You think they'll be ok?" asked Sean.

"Dominic and Julia are cops, Sean. Remember? It's Jack that might not be so ok."

"Yeah. You're right. I thought for sure Jack would catch on after we were in the store so long switching clothes. Besides, since when would I wear something dumb like a Hawaiin shirt?"

"Good point. No one that wears grey t-shirts and khakis every day could possibly lower himself to a Hawaiin shirt. Hey, where'd you get the idea to do all that anyway?"

"Well, maybe too much Ocean's 11 isn't such a bad thing after all..."

Thanks for reading everyone! Please post comments on the final entry. In a couple of days I'll post a wrap-up blog getting people's feedback on the BYOA as a whole and gauging people's feedback on starting a new one.
